Job Description Job Title: System Administrator Leader - Springfield, VA - TS/SCI with CompTIA Security Certification Requisition ID: 1200299 Job Category: System Administrator 6 Primary Location: USA-VA: VIRGINIA-SPRINGFIELD Schedule: Full-time Job Type: Regular Employee Status: Regular Job Posting: 2012-Feb-15 Description Essential Job Functions Responsibilities will include operations and maintenance of perimeter defense system configurations, system backups and recover, monitoring systems status, managing configurations and documentation to ensure data integrity. Familiar with perimeter defense and firewall architectures and principles is required for the accomplishment of responsibilities. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must be able to coordinate with later shifts in accomplishing troubleshooting and tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager. Ability to perform troubleshooting for networks, firewalls load balancers, and other customer problems such as email, web and VPN. Customer support is 24/7; on site availability/service Monday - Friday, 24 hours a day and Saturday-Sunday rotating on-call. The shift will either a day 6-2 or a swing 2-10 but it will not go from one to the otheryou will also be responsible for on call 1 weekend every 2 months. Experienced level of knowledge of perimeter defense, policy procedures, and general network security Experienced level of knowledge of typical TCP UDP session traffic Knowledge of Cisco routing and switching (including layer 7) Knowledge of various firewall methods and technologies (Juniper, Sidewinder, IPTables/Chains, etc.) Extensive network and packet communications troubleshooting experience Knowledge of Unix/Linux OS Knowledge of SNMP Network diagram maintenance System inventory tracking Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for security tools Participate in training and mentoring programs to both garner and distribute knowledge Participate in CSIRTs, SEMs, IPTs, TEMs, and working groups as needed on security issues Situational awareness sharing and reporting Coordinates with client management to formulate complex technical solutions. Informs client management of appropriate developments in technical support products. Evaluates products and upgrades for appropriateness. Oversees and implements system upgrade strategies. Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex solutions. Coordinates activities with other technical personnel as appropriate. Develops and analyzes highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system performance. Conducts capacity planning reviews with management and approves capacity plans formulated by less experienced personnel. Develops strategies to manage the frequency of appropriate support package/patch application. Monitors database maintenance and provides appropriate recommendations, when required. Coordinates with business development personnel on proposals and work estimates involving highly complex system administration projects and solutions. Researches current systems technology and serves as subject matter expert on complex systems processes and procedures. Provides technical leadership to internal and external personnel on highly complex system installation processes. Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced personnel. Provides technical leadership to appropriate personnel on highly complex system administration activities. Provides technical solutions and escalated support for non-routine, highly complex technical issues. Candidate must have active TS/SCI to work on Program. Candidate must have CompTIA Security Certification to be considered to work on Program. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred Seven or more years of technical experiences in a client-server environment Experience working with highly complex systems administration, database administration, and landscape maintenance Experience working with company products and services Experience working with company and client documentation and storage procedures Experience working with highly complex system implementations and organizational processes Other Qualifications Strong analytical and problem solving skills Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel Strong communication skills Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills Good ability to lead and work as part of a team Remote Work Authorized: No Relocation Assistence: Not Available Clearance Level: TS/SCI
