About the Job
URS URS is seeking System Administrators who install, configure, and troubleshoot computer networks and associated assemblies and provides technical assistance and training to system users. SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS - ELLSWORTH AFB Requires Associate's degree in computer related discipline, or equivalent experience, augmented by ongoing technical training and/or certification programs specific to the work unit hardware/software tools, and 2+ years directly related experience in the field. BS degree in a computer related discipline can substitute for the directly related experience. Must have demonstrated skills, knowledge, and technical competence in the management of operating systems, networks and relational databases, both hardware and software - to include network topology, standards, and protocols. Must be experienced in the creation and maintenance of servers and workstations in both stand-alone and networked environments, and possess a good understanding of network software (NFS, NIS, TCP/IP, etc.) as well as relational database software. Also requires ability to understand and administer Unix, VMS and MVS operating systems and Oracle databases, as well as, display a thorough awareness of security concerns for both operating systems and databases.
