System Developer – PHP, Java, MySQL, Oracle recruitment
Interactive Data actively seeks System Developers to join our Managed Solutions division in our Cheltenham office. This role involves working in a small team on internal projects for our German IT head office (all English speaking). The role offers many rewarding challenges for the successful candidate to demonstrate their flexibility and versatility on a wide variety of tasks. Much of the work revolves around our backends, which include MySQL and Oracle along with some proprietary backends for fast storage and ranking of highly volatile data. Development is typically in PHP, TCL and Java, depending on the task at hand. We have some fo the biggest financial institutions as our clients, and run thousands of Linux servers in our data centres around the world.
Duties Responsibilities
- Development of data importers and data quality assurance tools
- Developing and extending web services
- Problem solving in response to internally reported incidents
- Designing data models for storing financial data
- Contribution to internal migration projects
- Designing concepts for integrating systems
- Developing in a wide variety of languages and disciplines
- Other design, development and testing activities
The Individual
We seek someone with a strong analytical mind, excellent problem solving skills and at least 2 years of experience in at least one programming language. You will have strong communication skills in English, and will be highly dedicated, goal-oriented and flexible, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. We also seek good knowledge of relational databases (Oracle/MySQL) and data modelling.
