We are seeking an experienced System Engineer to be involved in the development of real-time electronic control systems for diesel fuel injection equipment and other integrated engine and vehicle electronic systems.

As System Engineer you will be involved in: Independently, planning and developing a product or engineering component; Control strategies development in Matlab; Driving reuse and commonality where possible; Providing expertise for investigations and problem solving activities; Capturing and analysing customer requirements, designing control algorithms (using Simulink), designing system diagnostics and CAN communication specifications; Developing validation tests for dSpace HiL; Calibrating sensor interfaces and diagnostic strategies; Calibrating servo controls and regulators; Supporting customer's engine and vehicle testing; and Supporting system and hardware FMEA.

To succeed as System Engineer you should be qualified to degree level in Mechanical, Electronics or Electromechanical Engineering and will have experience of developing real time control systems with an Automotive Background.

You will have solid experience of defining control strategies in Simulink, Awareness of the SPICE assessment model, experience of a production intent auto-coding environment and previous experience in a customer facing technical position as well as awareness and integration of Industry trends.

Experience in the following tools is required: SPICE, Simulink, Mathworks, Engine Control, dSpace, HiL (hardware in the loop), diagnostics, CAN, FMEA, Algorithm Development, Validation, Calibration, OBD, Requirements Analysis, Stateflow, eCoder, MISRA, EGAS, Autocode

Ideally you will have experience in the automotive field, awareness of the SPICE assessment model, experience of designing system diagnostics and CAN communication specifications, and knowledge/ experience of Clearcase (or similar configuration management tool). Experience of developing Validation Tests for dSpace HiL as well as system and hardware FMEA would also be desirable.
