ACTUAL POSITION LOCATED IN ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND
- The IA primary network security engineer and is accountable for the entire network security infrastructure and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM).
- Ensuring IA Policies are enforced
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining IA security solutions (e.g., HBSS, Retina, Harris Stat, DAR IA tools)
- Investigation of any actual or potential information security incidents
- Perform complex analysis and research of network security architecture, information security administration and policy
- Provide periodic reporting on network security issues
- Review new systems designs and major modifications for network security implications prior to implementation
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of available and emerging network security and microcomputer technologies through professional reading, attending industry conferences, and professional development (training, education, and participation in professional associations)
- Reviews advisories posted through CERT, ACERT and recommends appropriate network security improvements to Sr. Information Assurance Manager
- Help design and manage the business recovery and disaster recovery plans for the enterprise.
- Collaborate with Operations Team in identifying network and system vulnerabilities, and the appropriate solutions to eliminate or minimize their potential effects
- Collaborate with staff in the evaluation of new software and hardware systems, particularly as they relate to security.
- Collaborate with administrative staff in ensuring that departments have fulfilled their IA certification requirements and responsibilities
- Designs establishes and implements Network Enterprise policies and procedures
- Experience with Security software, Harris Stat, Retina, firewalls, monitoring, etc.
- Must have both Windows Server administration experience
- In-depth knowledge of Harris Stat, Retina, Active Directory Services
- Knowledge of backup and recovery processes
- Ability to adapt quickly to rapidly changing technology
- Ability to translate technical terms for non-technical persons
- Excellent communications (written and oral), customer service and problem solving skills
- Experience working and leading technical teams.
- Must have experience administering rights, permissions, and ACLs
- Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with open source and commercial vulnerability assessment tools
- Deployment experience with IA Enterprise-class security solutions: Firewalls, Host and Network-based Intrusion is desirable.
- Detection solutions, Enterprise VPN solutions
- Experience developing security strategy, policies, and standards is preferred
- Incident Response IAVA Reporting Administration

Qualifications:
LOCATED IN ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND
MINIMUM SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Industry certification in Information Technology, i.e. (CISSP, CISM, GSLA, Security+ certifications, etc)
- Individual must have a working knowledge of applicable DoD policies, IAVA compliance tools, MS Active Directory, Windows 2003, Windows/AD support tools, MS Exchange Server 2003, MOM, MS Office products, Symantec Ghost and virus products, McAfee virus products.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) is highly desired.
- Experience working with the Military is a plus.
