Our Pass Industrial division offers a unique and challenging opportunity for a Software Engineer based at our Cortland,NY location.  Responsible for designing PLC based control systems for Pall’s automated filtration systems. Designs include:  PLC networking architecture design and engineering; engineering of PLC interface to a variety of process transmitters, VFAC drives, and other process hardware as required.  Also responsible for PLC software design and engineering; operator interface and SCADA design and engineering. Acts as focal point for technical correspondence on projects; including communication with customer, consultants, contractors, vendors and internal project team.  Responsible for generating fabrication drawings and bills of materials necessary to support project manufacturing and purchasing, to support the project schedule.  Creates detailed equipment and component specifications based on project PID and other design documents.   Directs designers/drafters in creation and maintenance of detailed engineering drawings and material lists.  Responsible for managing the engineering labor hours on assigned projects in accordance with the budgeted hours.  Responsible for participating in the continuous improvement of department methods, procedures and tools

 

 

Position Requirements

 

A minimum of a BSEE, BSET or equivalent degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience; or a MS Degree in Engineering Field with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience. Must have experience with Allen Bradley PLC’s including ControlLogix, FlexLogix, SLC500 and MicroLogix; Midcon PLC’s and Siemen’s PLC’s.  Must possess the ability to set up PLC networks using RSNetworx for DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet, Modbus, Modbus + and Modbus/TCP, Profibus and ProfiNet.  Must have previous software design experience; operator interface and SCADA design experience.  Knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics; electric power distribution, VFD’s and NEC, NFPA and the European code is desirable
