Systems Accountant – FTSE 100 Organisation
Location: Slough
Salary: £34,000 + blue-chip benefits
Our Client is a global technology company listed on the London Stock Exchange. A world leader in the practical application of advanced technologies, they deliver products and services for the threat contraband detection, medical devices, energy, communications and engineered components markets worldwide.
ü As part of the application service management team, will ensure delivery and improvement of the PM / HQ application service by both the application service management team directly as well as the Application Management Services provider.
ü The systems accountant will, as part of the application service management team, support, maintain and develop the application service management team consolidation system for Smiths and its divisions.
ü The systems account will liaise with the Application Management Services - service provider on specifics issues and changes.
ü They will also be responsible for the maintenance of Agresso security (HQ general ledger) and HQ Concur (expenses system) security.
The role:
ü As part of the application service management team, process, develop and test structural changes in application service management team.
ü Maintain users in application service management team, Agresso and Concur.
ü Support application service management team Users using the application service management team service desk.
ü Write reports in application service management team using reporting services and application studio. Maintain existing reports.
ü Test application service management team during upgrades and other changes.
ü Interact with Enterprise Solutions, Enterprise Applications and other Business Information Services functions in the articulation / deployment of application services including Projects, Enhancements, Config Change
ü Train users in use of application service management, best practise and in response to specific enquiries.
ü Maintain the application service management database to maximise efficiency and reliability of application service management system.
ü Create new reports as and when required by all five divisions as well as corporate users
ü Provide out-of-hours support when required via remote access tools
ü Liaise directly with software vendors when required
ü Maintain a set of annual objectives and measure individual performance against these objectives
Key Processes:
ü Maintain application service management team documentation and change controls.
ü Ensure data integrity in application service management, by following control procedures and checking output.
ü Comply with all SG Governance / Security / Change Control processes meeting ‘Systems Management Integration’ / Enterprise Architecture / Enterprise Solutions / Business Information Services Operations requirements
ü Work with the Application Management Services provider to insure a smooth / efficient process working with the Application Management Services Enhancement Stream leads providing status on changes
The person:
ü A proven ability to understand how Application Management Services - Service providers can and should work in an ITIL framework
ü Experience of administrating application service management consolidation system or similar
ü 3 + years experience in a similar corporate role
ü Understanding of accounting and financial report type data
ü Understanding of business KPIs
ü Good organisational, analytical and problem solving skills
ü Exhibits positive indicators of the Group competences
ü Ability to interpret user requirements and map out structural system changes as appropriate.
ü Ability to work methodically and follow processes
ü Excellent written and verbal communication skills
