Current Need

Position is located at the RelayHealh office just off I-85 and North Druid Hills.

Responsible for implementing product code releases. Manages and monitors product application for performance and health. Responds to product application support issues. Analyzes problems with software applications to identify problem area(s) and recommend corrective action. Recommends solutions to application questions. May utilize specialized domain expertise related to the specific application of the software to resolve problems.

The position of System Application Support Engineer provides application support for RelayHealth products primarily operating in UNIX/Linux and utilizing an Oracle database systems. Solutions are highly complex and considered mission-critical in the healthcare industry, requiring rapid resolution.

Required demonstrable experience in all areas in previous work history:

1. Work with resources on other teams as appropriate to triage and diagnose issues with RelayHealth solutions

2. Master corporate best practices and supported methodologies for all job functions

3. Follow defined troubleshooting processes to fully resolve issues

4. Follow implementation procedures to promote new code into appropriate environments.

5. Develop scripts or code to automate application operation functions.

6. Contribute to the knowledge base by adding and supplementing entries

7. Report on individual performance metrics or success factors as requested

Position Description

Defines, designs, and implements network communications and solutions. Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Manages load configuration of central data communication processor and makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinates terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, installing, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requirement. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. Trains other employees on system.

Additional Knowledge Skills

*4-6 years experience in a complex application technical support role

*Ability to develop shell scripts, java scripts, PL/SQL (or SQL), and some HTML

*Strong troubleshooting skills within Linux environment around Perl and Java based technologies, application systems, IP based network, relational database systems (Oracle a plus), and various HTTP web services.

*Must be able to build, implement, and maintain administration and monitoring tools for automating application support activities.

*Detail oriented with task, documentation, and communication.

*Demonstrated competency with complex systems analysis and configuration.

*Knowledge of management/configuration of web/application servers (Apache/Tomcat/Glassfish with Play! Framework a plus)

*Perl development experience and knowledge a plus

*Experience with life cycle methods and tools.

*Ability to quickly learn new, complex technologies

*Effective verbal and written communication skills

*Ability to prioritize and demonstrate time management skills

*Healthcare industry experience a plus

*Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations

*Flexible schedule to allow for on-call rotation

*Ability to work on a team as well as independently

Minimum Requirements

6+ years experience in a Linux environment - Systems Administration and developing shell scripts (BSH, KSH) experience.

Perl develpment experience (able to read code)

Education

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
