Job Description-Overview :
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides user support and training, application development, systems administration, audio-video and classroom technology services, web presence, IT consultation, and project management for the Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM) and affiliated organizations whose functions support or benefit TUSM. Information technology at the Medical School includes key resources and services that are an indispensable part of administration, teaching, research and campus life.
Reporting to the Manager of IT Systems and Services, the Systems Administrator works as a member of a highly motivated team to ensure systems reliability, availability, security, and 24/7 delivery of services and operational support related to these systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Installation, configuration, maintenance of systems maintained by the OIT, which include but are not limited to database, application, and web servers, firewalls, and application delivery controllers;
- Ensuring servers, services and applications running reliably and securely, strong documentation of systems and procedures and tested backup, disaster recovery and business continuity planning;
- Provide administrative support for Active Directory and identity management;
- Following interal policies, procedures, and industry best practices to ensure secure and reliable systems and services.
Job Description - Requirements :
Basic Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 3+ years of experience configuring and maintaining infrastructure systems. Strong knowledge of Windows systems administration. Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008. Strong knowledge of Microsoft IIS 6, 7, or 7.5. Experience with server virtualization. Experience with Active Directory. Detail and results oriented. Ability to work efficiently and effectively in both team and independent settings. Ability to manage and set personal goals and ensure goals are met. Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with VMware vSphere 4/5. Experience with Citrix Netscalers, XenDesktop, and XenApp.
Special Work Schedule Requirements: Able to carry a pager or similar device and is available for on-call rotations.
