SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR / ENGINEER (VOIP, NETWORKING, WINDOWS SERVER, LINUX) - Wealth / Investment Services
Based in the City of London, a leading Investment Services organisation is looking for a high-calibre 3rd line VOIP Network/Server Administrator / Engineer. to join their growing Technology Team. The organisation is a UK private client investment management arm of a diversified financial services company headquartered in the USA. They offer a complete wealth management service to independent private client investment managers providing advisers with exceptional support, appropriate technology, robust client reporting and a host of resources and tools key to the investment management process, enabling them to deliver excellence to their clients.
The Role
The successful Infrastructure Engineer will provide 3rd level support to all VOIP infrastructure, (Cisco, SIP PBX, IP Phones) as well developing and implementing changes or upgrades to the telephony environment. The role will also include managing and supporting all Windows and LINUX servers as well as applications comprising industry standard and bespoke, in-house developed systems.
Principle Duties:
Infrastructure:
1) Design, implementation/installation and support of all Voice/Comms (including VOIP), Data Networks and Infrastructure at head office and branch locations around the UK including installation and maintenance of all cabling, routers and switches along with all their peripherals.
2) Windows Server administration including memory management, CPU and I/O performance through to performance tuning and optimisation clustering, load balancing etc
3) Patching databases and applications.
4) Storage / SAN Management: Provide cost-effective, centralised, enterprise-class SAN and network storage, data protection and recovery, and BCP protection.
Operations:
The Infrastructure Engineer maintains projects from start to finish taking ownership of all incidents.
Provides scheduling and automation services to the organisation and proactively respond to events occurring within the infrastructure to minimise the impact to the business.
This involves:
1) Data Centre Operations - maintain the current data centre environment2)Server Operations: Data processing and system monitoring support for Windows and UNIX servers
3) IT Operations: spanning Active Directory maintenance, NTFS permission administration bandwidth upgrades, File and Print services support, File Server Maintenance, Network Outages, Switch Port Configurations, Windows password management
4) Applications support - basic troubleshooting of third party applications
Skills and technical skills required:
Deep experience of administering /supporting:
1) VOICE: CISCO VOIP Products including Cisco Unified Communications Manage, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Presence as well as SIP PBX.
2) Linux administration- RedhatCentos
3) Sound knowledge of TCP/IP Networking and Cisco VPN appliances - certified to CCNA level at least.
4) Applications support - bespoke and package solutions
5) Experience or working in the Financial industry an advantage, especially the wealth/high net worth space
Salary Benefits
£40-42,000 + bonus + benefits
