Position Requirements:
Responsibilities:
• Install, maintain and support servers, including operating systems upgrades and patches
• Participate in design and implementation of new services
• Assist in the evaluation of new tools for supporting infrastructure
• Maintain systems hardware and software inventory
• Support of the business units and system documentation
• Additional projects and assignments as assigned
Requirements:
• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• At least 4 - 6 years of experience in Information Technology with a proven track record of success and increasing responsibility
• Ability to analyze problems related to the server, networking, and systems software
• Ability to gather and analyze information and troubleshoot various server problems
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to articulate, written and verbally, IT needs in understandable language - including pros, cons and cost of various solution options
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong knowledge of common server analysis, monitoring and security utilities
Technical skills required:
• Working technical knowledge of Server operating systems including Linux (Red Hat/CentOS) and Windows Server 2008 R2 in an Enterprise environment
• Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
• Networking and Security -- Cisco switches, routers and ASA/Firewall management
• Solid understanding of LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, Networking topologies and troubleshooting
• Experience with the following technologies a plus:
* Symantec Altiris (version 6.x and above)
* Virtualization Technologies (VMware/Xen/and VDI)
* Riverbed Steelhead
* F5 (LTM and GTM)
* Juniper SA/MAG
* Infoblox
* Backup Technologies (Legato/Datadomain/NetBackup)
* Xceedium Gatekeeper
* Entrust
* Managed File Transfer Systems (MFT)
* Shell Scripting
