Systems Administrator Job in Dearborn 48124, Michigan US

Systems administrator would be responsible for maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, OS, storage, system-level tools, and networking of select server systems. Specific platforms and devices include SUN (Solaris) servers, SUN storage, SAN storage and NAS storage. Key platform and expertise required is SOLARIS. We will consider candidates that may not have all these requirements. In addition to system, storage, and basic network administration functions, it is desirable to have familiarity of C3P application environments (Metaphase, TDM, IMI, Teamcenter Engineering, Teamcenter Enterprise, Catia V4 and V5, I-DEAS, Teamcenter Manufacturing, etc).

Job Duties:

•   Provides escalated support and leads troubleshooting and incident resolution for system hardware, software, and operating systems.

•   May design and develop specialized automation tools, scripts, and processes for the administration and performance monitoring of system hardware and software.

•   Incident and Request management using Ford standard processes and tools.

•   Vendor collaboration is typically required and may include management of vendors for technical support and issues.

•   Extensive interaction and collaboration with IT professionals such as network engineers, security engineers, storage engineers, architects and application/database administrators is typically required.

•   Customer interaction for issue and problem resolution and escalated issues is typically required.

•   Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:

•   Bachelor's degree IS/IT/MIS

•   Professional certification or equivalent work experience on specific technical hardware and software platforms is highly desirable.

•   5 or more years of systems administration

•   Solaris 10 and Solaris 8

•   Solaris ZFS

•   Solaris Zones

•   Sun Cluster

•   Global support is required which will entail overtime work during off hours (including weekends)

Preferred Requirements:

•   Perl

•   Solaris Volume Manager / Disksuite

•   Veritas Volume Manager

 

•   Veritas VxFs

•   Veritas Cluster Server

•   eTrust

•   EHPAS

•   Bourne shell, C shell, and Korn shell scripting
