Systems Administrator Job in Lincolnshire 60069, Illinois US

Set up and manage servers, network connected devices and peripherals. Identify and resolve specific problems in the use and performance of systems.

Primary responsibilities are to configure/administer systems.
Liaise with Engineering technical / application development groups and or consultants on problem resolution, system upgrades and integration. Escalate issues as necessary.
Document and maintain up-to-date systems procedures.
Provide emergency after hours support for mission critical systems as required.
Maintains user security and overall system data integrity.
Participates in technical team meetings and provide updates to the world wide team as needed.
Provides regular status reporting (verbal and written).
Performs other duties as assigned.
Cope with dynamic changing technologies such as Wireless devices, Sensor devices

BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Network management.
1-5 years hands-on experience and knowledge of Linux environment.
Fundamental understanding of an operating system and its commands and utilities.
Familiarity with most basic system administration tools and processes; identify errors/warnings in system logs.
Independent problem-solving, self-direction
Provide off-hour support as needed.
