Systems Administrator
Job Summary / Responsibilities:
The Network Administrator position handles all internal office and external store support/technology related issues. The ideal candidate has to be able to handle and prioritize multiple projects at once and be a proven “self-starter”. The position requires someone that is detail oriented and very organized in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, monitor and support network servers and server applications
- Diagnose end-user technical issues (both in-house and store users) in the areas of applications, operating systems, hardware, network connectivity and/or user issues
- Research and test upgrades/ updates to existing technology; recommend new technologies
- Configure various hardware systems designs for rack vs un-racked servers
- Maintain server disk usage and log monitoring, cleanup defragmentation
- Develop and maintain quality relationships with end users and stores via quality customer service
- Participate in configuring and setting up equipment for new and existing hires and stores
- Maintain and implement backups. Insure that data is kept safe, secure and that data maintains its integrity
- Support and configure additional office and store technologies and equipment
- Oversee and participate in multiple projects from start to finish in a team-oriented environment
- Act as point of escalation for diagnosing and repairing problems
· Upgrade/maintain desktops/laptops/POS Hardware images for Win7/XP and office 2007/2010 layered applications apply all patches and updates
· Technical support for other Microsoft Applications, Access, Xen Server, Citrix
· Perform server administration tasks within AD environment, shares NTFS
· Network and Firewall hardware/software management, support and monitoring.
· Rotating schedule of off-hours evening /weekend call support for stores
· WAN/LAN hardware /software designs, direction, recommendations and implementation
Skills / Qualifications:
- Experienced technology professional with at least 5 years’ experience operating and managing Windows based desktops and servers
- Must have experience with Windows Server, Email clients, Active Directory, Print Server, Symantec Backup Exec, NEC Phone Systems, Citrix, and Anti-virus
- Must have knowledge of Mac including but not limited to OS X Snow Leopard/Lion, Mac mail 5.0, Mac Office 2011,Quark,Adobe Suite
- Excellent written, verbal, and documentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once with the ability to appropriately prioritize tasks as needed
- Experience with SQL, VB .NET, VB Scripting, MS SQL Server, and Software Development are a plus
- Working experience with remote desktop software-PC Anywhere, VNC, RDP
- Supports networking services such as DNS, WINS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN
- Occasional travel
