Systems Administrator Job in Toronto/Gta, Ontario Canada
Eagle is currently seeking one (1) Systems Administrator. This contract position is projected to be six (6) months in length and begin April 2012.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Creating/Updating Windows server support documentation as it relates to project assignments;
- Complying with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) – including development of project plans, documentation of system requirements, and estimates of scope and cost;
- Ensuring timely and accurate communication and resolution of issues;
- Monitoring service delivery against commitments, prioritizing work activities;
- Following documented operational procedures and processes with minimal guidance from the team such as equipment requisitioning, network requisition, inventory and asset management;
- Analyzing day-to-day processes for areas and methods of improvement;
- Ensuring all Windows servers follow and meet current security requirements set by the approved governing bodies within the organization; and,
- Providing technical guidance to junior staff.
Skills and Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have:
- College/University Graduate in Computer Studies;
- Excellent customer service track record;
- Minimum 5 years of experience building, deploying and administering Microsoft Server Operating Systems (Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows 2008);
- Expert Problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and Windows Server OS issues;
- In depth knowledge regarding IBM/HP Server Hardware (Rack mount? and Blade technologies);
A thorough understanding of Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and security policies (GPO); - Minimum 1 year of experience managing, maintain and supporting VMWare Products;
- Knowledge of server imaging products (Altiris, Platespin, Ghost);
- In depth knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, MS Clustering;
- Knowledge of file/print environment configurations;
- Strong understanding of Storage Area Networks (SAN);
- Ability to prioritize, working independently and in team environment;
- Highly organized and process driven;
- Good written and oral communication skills;
- Familiar with change management best practices;
- Understanding of MS Clustering; and,
- Strong understanding of SAN, Windows 2003 and 2008 R 1 and R 2, ESX 4.1 or higher.
