Systems Administrator / Network Engineer 3

Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Systems Administrator (SA)/Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Schriever AFB, CO. The Systems Administrator (SA) / Network Engineer will support the Warfighter, Ballistic Missile Defense System Integration (WBI) Task Orders on the JRDC program. Support daily network operations and events for the Wargames, Exercises and Training Local Area Networks (WETLANs).

Roles and Responsibilities:
* The SA/Network Engineer will be primarily responsible for the
administration of a Windows 2003 and Red Hat Linux Virtual Server
(VMWare) environment hosting Directory Services, DNS, DHCP,
Deployment Services, Red Hat Satellite, ePO, SQL, various GOTS
and COTS configuration management tools and a changing number
of Linux hosts

  • This position includes Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA)
    deployment and remediation of hosts and servers, including regular
    updates for OS patches, virus definitions and reporting compliance
  • The SA/Network Engineer will be responsible for a backup/archive
    system and disk array, including regular backups IAW DoD and local
    policies
  • The SA/Network Engineer will assist with account management of
    network users and administrators including security policies, account
    creation and deletion and removal of access accounts with other
    organizations
  • The SA/Network Engineer will be required to maintain and implement
    all STIG requirements IAW DoD and local policy to include Group
    Policy and Linux system configuration
  • The SA/Network Engineer will also assist with the physical setup,
    cabling, loading and administration of servers and hosts in support
    of wargames, exercises and training events in a multiple OS network
    environment
  • Review of audit logs and generation of documentation is required
  • The SA/Network Engineer will be required to provide Tier I desktop
    and application support to end users in the Warfighter Support area
    of responsibility
  • There is a potential for OCONOS travel when needed
  • Basic Qualifications:
    To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related
    discipline and at least 8 years of system
    administration experience. Years of experience may
    be acceptable in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of MCSE/MCITP and RHCSA/RHCE
  • Candidate is required to have a CISSP certification
    or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • If the CISSP is not in place, the candidate must have
    a Security + certification or the ability to obtain within
    60 days of hire. If the candidate already has a
    CISSP, the Security + certification is not needed
  • CEH preferred. Strong Unix or Linux background.
    Exceptional Multi-OS and Java/C troubleshooting
    abilities
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Backup system and RAID array experience
  • BMD message traffic experience
  • REMEDY experience
  • Host Based Security System (HBSS) experience.
    Knowledge of network protocols
  • Position prefers a candidate with a current Secret
    | clearance
