The department of Homeland Security contract in Broomfield, CO has an opening for a Systems Administrator. This position requires the ability to obtain a DHS C6 security clearance. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for performing all aspects of network security and network operations and system administration with our team, including but not limited to: Troubleshooting various network connected servers and services. Provide scripting and programming in various languages... Responsible for installation, configuration, administration and system security of Windows and UNIX/Linux-based systems in a multi-platform environment including remotely deployed sensors and local servers. Understand and change individual system security features such as file permissions, unsecured service removal, software upgrades and patches, hardening OS and making operating recommendations for servers. Use of remote access tools to access remote systems and servers. Performing security audits and creating recommendations using various tools including nmap and Nessus/Tenable. VMWare experience helpful. LAN/WAN operations, trouble-shooting problems and TCP/IP performance/packet analysis. This individual will be responsible for the day to day monitoring and support of the IP data network. Manage Enterprise Infrastructure Security Compliance and Security Tools/Platforms used by Security Operations and Incident Response Teams in a very large networked environment. As a primary responsibility, manage various Windows and UNIX/Linux server platforms and their hosted applications. Service desk ticket handling (Remedy) in a security compliance and server/sensor maintenance capacity. 24 X 7 on-call and crisis call participation, as required by operational needs, or as required for support by Security/Network Operations or Incident Response Teams. Vulnerability assessment/audit and remediation actions participation. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 5+years of experience operating systems experience or in lieu of degree 9+ years of intermediate system/network administration on various platforms. IP filtering rules/policies creation and maintenance. Use of SSH as a primary means of access to console terminal servers using CLI. People interfacing skills critical. Individual works directly with a variety of customers from non-technical to engineering and security operations personnel. Excellent English skills and written skills are required. USA citizenship and the ability to obtain government security clearances are required. Proficiency with desktop PC applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio. Strong problem solving skills and methodical troubleshooting is required. Preferred Qualifications: Current DOD Secret and ICE clearances are preferred. Programming Scripting experienced: Previous experience with C#, VB, BigFix (Relevance) highly desirable. Previous experience with C, C++, Perl, Ruby desirable. Network Security experience. Knowledge of the configuration and operations of IDS sensor appliances. Host-based IDS operations desired. Experience in Intrusion Detection and Countermeasures activities a strong plus. Firewall and proxy server installation, operations, and configuration changes for Internet access control. Windows administration, antivirus and Windows update mechanisms, policies, and counter measure a plus. McAfee ePO and Microsoft WSUS experience a strong plus. Security Incident Event Management (SIEM) platform experience, such as event log correlation and administration experience (ArcSight, RSA, Splunk, etc.) a strong plus. Network Operations experience. Experienced with circuit troubleshooting and working knowledge of ISDN. Working with vendors to resolve circuit outages. Manage network trouble ticketing queue and resolve all data network issues. Adept at documenting work, maintaining and following documented procedures. Ability to prioritize problems and workload.
