Systems Analyst Consultant Job in Windsor, Connecticut US
CIBER, Inc. is currently searching candidates for two open Systems Analysis Consultant positions that are currently open. This team provides robust, multi-tiered test and development environments for enterprise QA and Development groups. It is chartered to rapidly provision and support diverse test environments for the enterprise, allowing for comprehensive development and testing of applications prior to deployment across our production environment. Our goals are to increase the productivity and efficiency of development groups, reduce post application deployment downtime and limit costly rework of application packages due to inadequate testing. Our team facilitates all of this while achieving significant savings through reduced test machine provisioning, management and storage costs.
Primary Duties Include:
- Working closely with application owners, quality assurance analysts, developers and project managers to first create and then support environments catered to their efforts.
- Managing a queue of requests and assigned tasks, negotiating priorities and scheduling appropriately.
- Supporting SLAs with stated delivery, performance and uptime goals.
- Testing and making comparisons of a variety of available virtualization technologies.
- Analyzing all aspects of the existing infrastructure, recommending and testing modifications that may enhance service automation, reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability.
- Assisting with definition of service standards, guidelines, best practices and gathering metrics.

Requirements:
- 5 years minimum experience supporting end users in a Microsoft Windows domain environment.
- 2+ years experience with a mainstream desktop / server virtualization technology.
- 2+ years experience with Microsoft Server operating systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are required
Assets:
- Experience with supporting users of virtual machines highly valued.
- VCP, MCSA, MCP, A+, Network+, Security+ certifications desirable.
- Experience with virtual machine storage technologies (arrays with fiber channel, SSD and SATA).
- Background in IT support industry.
- Experience with Linux console commands a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
