Job Summary:

 

The Senior Systems Analyst will be responsible for systems architecture, product management, designing, and implementing a collaboration infrastructure platform, vendor management, vulnerability management (application-level) application release/upgrade analysis/planning, policy coordination (e.g. db sizes, retention, archiving, compliance, etc.), patch management (application-level), BES support/management / planning, application governance, and message hygiene management / administration focusing on Microsoft Exchange 2010.  They will also be responsible for troubleshooting message routing problems and new user provisioning/troubleshooting. The Senior Systems Analyst will also have to provide Tier 3 support for this service. Other duties include requirements gathering, process creation, knowledge transfer to TSS support, project planning, testing, infrastructure documentation, and deploying software.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 

Coordinates and performs activities related to the development, implementation, and support of Collaboration projects, which includes: requirements gathering; project planning; testing; documenting; and deploying software;

Troubleshoots and provides tier 3 operational support to internal and external customers as necessary;

Provides instruction and mentoring to other team members as appropriate;

Provides analysis, recommendations, and technical assistance to business units and schools within the University in support of projects using the Collaboration infrastructure;

Manages ongoing maintenance and integration with other platforms with the Collaboration Suite;

Performs related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired;

A minimum of five years’ experience in a professional information technology environment with responsibility for developing, customizing, integrating, and deploying Collaboration software;

A minimum of five years’ experience supporting and managing the following types of application software: Microsoft Exchange 2007 / 2010, Microsoft Outlook, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Microsoft Active Directory, and Microsoft Office;

Knowledge of MAPI, IMAP, POP3, web services, and service oriented architecture;

Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently;

Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to explain and interpret complex technology in business terms;

Able to work collegially within a team environment;

Can work independently, assuming start-to-finish responsibility for software projects from requirements documentation through deployment;

Willing to embrace new technologies and systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Able to help develop integrated short and long-term strategies for Collaboration that includes the infrastructure, application, and service offering aspects;

Able to help develop multi-year roadmaps that represent these strategies;

A minimum of five years working with new technologies and applications;

A minimum of three years project management experience;

Able to orally and visually present to audiences of different sizes and authority levels;

Ability to interact with the Business units and the ability to understand which technology to apply to a specific business need or request;

Must understand how technology can be applied to a specific business requirement, and must be able to negotiate with client teams how such implementation will take place.
