Systems Consultant

This position conducts technical studies and evaluations of business area requirements and recommends to client and other data processing management appropriate technological alternatives. Functions as a liaison between the systems consulting, IT, and business areas. Essential Functions: - Participates in technical studies evaluations of business requirements technological alternatives - Recommends appropriate systems solutions - Provides direction guidance to other programmers - Responsible for the evaluation implementation of complex applications w/ complex subsystems which may affect the entire system or multiple systems applications - Prepares communications, documentation, conducts classes on new system alternatives - Consults provides guidance to client data processing personnel - Performs related duties as assigned or requested Other Duties: - Technology consultant for regional department - Webmaster for regional department website - Travels to medical centers throughout the region with a team, to manage hardware and web-based SQL server database for facility evaluations for a large team (20+) - Builds MIDAS focus studies, queries and reports for department for local and regional studies. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Significant experience,minimum of 4years in systems and applications programming, and a working knowledge of available systems alternatives and technology, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, or a related discipline - Must understand the systems development process and have a solid understanding of business processes - Requires excellent analytical ability, consultative, and communication skills, and strong judgment - Ability to work effectively with client, DP managers, and staffs - Must be able to work in Labor/Management Partnership environment Preferred Qualifications: - Dreamweaver skills for website maintenance. - Able to setup and troubleshoot a local area network consisting of desktops, laptops, printers and wireless routers; - Able to manage Windows user accounts and permissions; - Able to install SQL Server Database. - Working knowledge of SQL programming and VBA programming. - MIDAS experience to design focus studies, queries, and reports.
