Systems / Applications Development Manager – Microsoft .Net - £40,000 - £48,000 + package
Location: East Manchester adjacent to M60.

This award winning software developer with a niche web based product set require the services of a Software Development Manager who has a demonstrable track record of managing teams and software development effort in a Microsoft .Net environment.
The role involves being the escalation point for all technical issues within the department, ensuring that all objectives are clearly defined and matched so a strong background in a Microsoft development environment is essential.
The post holder will be required to define and implement the Microsoft, .Net based technical strategy at a company, department, and project level, be responsible for the line management of team leaders within the department, be responsible for the personal development of department staff (C 15), including training and mentorship.
Other duties include;
· Control the departmental budget.
· Report to the CTO on the progress of the department.
· To be a technically proficient leader in all aspects of development within the area under leadership
· To ensure that all members within the team leaders are working at agreed levels of output and ensure that team leader’s scheduling and utilisation are at agreed levels
Key experience;
· Minimum 5 years experience or equivalent in a commercial development environment.
· Good man-manger with multi-team management experience
· Excellent experience of n-tier systems design and development methodology.
· Excellent knowledge of relational database design and SQL programming, including stored procedures and ability to review performance.
· At least 4 years experience of a modern development environment (preferably .Net 3.5, C# and ASP.net).
· Excellent appreciation of working with a financial, procurement or ERP environment from a systems perspective.
· Able to work independently, possesses a flexible attitude and excellent communication skills.
· Able to lead a large team to ensure integrity, quality of design and implementation in delivery of quality outputs.
· Experience of managing a team including performance management against objectives
