Location Oklahoma City, OK Security Clearance Required? Ability to Obtain Interim and/or Final Clearances (Post Start) - US Citizenship Required about security clearance definitions Position Description Human Factors Engineer responsible for integration of cockpit controls displays, display format development, evaluation of maintainer interfaces, and lab and flight test evaluation of operator interface changes for the B-1 bomber. Candidate will be working with customer/user towards development of situation awareness, data link messages, defensive system status, digital maps, aircraft sensors data, weapon targeting and mission planning display formats. Technical + Crew Systems Design Basic - Applies complete knowledge of engineering principles, human and vehicle systems requirements, and crew system design analysis and methods in order to design, develop and test crew systems such as crew stations, ingress/egress, escape systems, seats and restraints, life support systems, transparencies, controls and displays, lighting, crew alerting, equipment installations, secondary structural design, and fluid systems installation. Preferred - Applies extensive, specialized knowledge of engineering principles, human and vehicle systems requirements, and crew system design analysis and methods in order to design, develop and test crew systems such as crew stations, ingress/egress, escape systems, seats and restraints, life support systems, transparencies, controls and displays, lighting, crew alerting, equipment installations, secondary structural design, and fluid systems installation. + Human Eng Knowledge Basic - Applies complete knowledge of human capabilities and constraints (eg; physiology, cognition, perception, ergonomics, anthropometry) and knowledge of the user and their environments (eg; flight operators, maintainers, space and hazardous environments) to assist in the development, test and evaluation of safe and effective user interfaces. Basic Qualifications For Consideration Do you have experience with military aircraft platforms? Typical Education/Experience Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years experience, Master's with 7 or more years experience or PhD with 4 or more years experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Other Job related information Requires 5 years of Human Factors or similar military display format development experience, preferably with incorporation of data link transmit/receive message sets and development of associated system implementation requirements for software interfaces, avionics architecture, display capability, and operator interfaces. Must be familiar with graphical based formats and system data interfaces as they pertain to mission planning, situation awareness and operator task requirements. Familiarity with MIL-STD-1472 and MIL-H-46855 with a degree in Human Factors, Psychology, Engineering or related job experience would be preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Experience working with a variety of Hardware and Software disciplines. Experience with format prototyping applications desired.
