This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a cutting edge NHS IT agency as a Systems Engineer to support the ICT Services Systems team with responsibility for the delivery of departmental server hardware and software infrastructure.

In this role your responsibilities will include -
•Day-to-day support of all hosted services, performing regular updates when required to by service owners
•Negotiating with service owners on service issues and fixes and negotiating and scheduling downtime for maintenance of servers and applications, working closely with all members of ICT and external suppliers ensuring that issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
•The build and configuration of new servers and decommissioning of old equipment
•Managing access permissions to systems and shared data
•Delivering technical projects with departmental impact including developing and implementing test plans, effective document management, appropriate policies such as Internet Usage and release plans with User and Support Acceptance
•Documents processes and procedures to ICT documentation standards and peer review documentation when required
•Production of monthly KPI reports for ICT management

As the ideal candidate you will be an experienced systems engineer with significant experience of following Release, Change, Configuration and Project management processes and a broad technology exposure including experience of working with the following technologies - Dell/HP/IBM server hardware; Windows Server family; VMWare ESX Server/Virtual Centre; TCP/IP/DNS/DHCP/WINS Network; Active Directory; Enterprise wide backup technologies; Enterprise wide Anti-virus technologies; SQL Server. In addition you will have excellent communication and customer management skills. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) qualification or equivalent is highly desirable
