Systems Engineer II Job in Los Angeles 90027, California US

The Systems Engineer II is responsible for the design and maintenance of the organization’s server and storage systems.

 

·      Monitors the performance of network based systems and participates in event response, incident resolution, problem management, root cause analysis, single point of failure analysis, performance management, and capacity management processes

 

·      Gathers requirements, designs possible solutions, presents solutions to management for refinement and approval, provides estimates as requested, configures systems according to specifications, writes and executes test plans, creates change management documentation, implements solutions during approved change management windows, validates that all objectives and requirements are met, and completes final documentation of system. Keeps up to date with the latest technology, works with vendors to understand new products and services, follow industry leaders, read periodicals and technology news to learn what other hospitals and institutions are doing in technology.

 

·      Mentors and coaches other team members, participates in training less experienced members of the team.

 

·      Collaborates with the Information Security team to determine security exposure and risk for any project on which assigned, identifies risk management techniques, and communicates findings to the Manager Server and Data Center Services in written form prior to project approval or implementation of a change.

 

·      Participates in Incident Management, Service Fulfillment, Asset Management, Change Management, and Continuous Improvement processes as assigned by the Network Operations manager.

 

Minimum Experience Required: 

·      5-10 years of work experience as a Windows Administrator or equivalent

·      MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator)

·      Associate degree in related technical field or equivalent experience

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 

·      Experience with Windows 2000, 2003 and/or 2008 Active Directory

·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.

 

License, Registration or Certification Required: 

Brocade or Cisco Certification

MCTS or MCITP (required)

ITIL v3 (required)
