Systems Engineer
Description: Responsible for maintaining integrity of systems-of-systems by defining requirements architecture (consistent with the customer's Enterprise Architecture (EA), and interfaces. Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions to total systems or subsystems using internally created and/or commercial off-the-shelf products. Provides end-to-end project management support of the life cycle. Provides a total systems perspective including a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies and requirements of hardware and software components. Coordinates with the customer and other team members and ensures problem solution, appropriate risk reduction, and user satisfaction. Makes recommendations, if needed, on test and evaluation strategies for major systems' installations.
Analyses, designs, tests, and evaluates network systems such as satellite networks, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the Internet, intranets, and other data communications systems ranging from a connection between two offices in the same building to globally distributed networks, voice mail, and e-mail systems of a multinational organization. Performs network modeling, analysis, and planning including research related products and make necessary hardware and software recommendations.
Installs, configures, and supports an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system. Maintains network hardware and software. Monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. May supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
Ensures that adequate and appropriate planning is provided for hardware and communications for facilities. Prepares engineering plans and site installation technical design packages. Provides coordination in the analysis, acquisition and installation of hardware and software. Manages efforts of a staff engaged in facility additions, moves or changes including analysis, telecommunications (LAN, WAN, voice, video) planning, cabling, IT requirements, etc. Performs site surveys. Assesses and documents current site network configuration and user requirements.

Required Skills
A grade/level E05 position requires a minimum 8+ years of experience.
A grade/level of E06 position requires a minimum 10+ years of experience
Position requires TS/SCI w/ Full Scope polygraph
8 - 10+ years experience engineering complex / enterprise software or network systems
8 - 10+ years developing, testing, installing, documenting and maintaining systems.
8 - 10+ years performing modeling, analysis, planning including trade studies and making hardware or software recommendations to meet customer requirements.
5+ years experience executing functional, integration, and regression testing as well as system interfaces
Desired Skills:
- 10 years supervisory experience.
- Strong written and verbal skills as used in presentation, reports and instructional material for customers and staff.

- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with system developers to communicate test results and resolve system defects
- Experience in organizational messaging concepts and implementation.
- Experience with systems' border-to-border shared infrastructure with standard interfaces.
- Experience in standards for delivery of multi-media product reports (IP/JMS-based).
- Familiarity with HTML and Mime Oracle database design XML schema design.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver training effectively to a wide variety of audiences, including end users, senior managers and technical personnel
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication for presentations at all levels
- Excellent public speaking skills (demonstrating professionalism and polish) and an ability to keep the audience engaged and maintain a positive and interactive experience
- Experience producing technical documentation (e.g., architecture design, implementation documentation, test plans and procedures, training materials)
Education and Experience: BS/BA degree required in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related field. Must have 8 - 10+ years relevant experience.
