Systems Engineer
Job Description This Sr. System Administrator will provide services to our mission-critical LAMP stack servers. These servers host web services, government-wide collaboration tools, and databases and data warehouses. This position will encompass all aspects of the system lifecycle. It is necessary that this person be able to handle additional duties to help out with our Linux and network infrastruc ture footprint. (M) IND123 "LIDSFG" Required Skills * Demonstrated proficiency in performing Linux Systems Administration o Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot Systems o Proficient in SHELL scripting and automating tasks (bash, perl, and ruby preferred, others accepted) o Understanding of intermediate Networking concepts and Troubleshooting o Ability to perform Systems Installation, Upgrades and Maintenance using standard package managers such as rpm and apt o Proficient in ensuring Systems Security o Virtualization * Experience with deploying and supporting operations of applications on the LAMP Stack o Experience with deploying and operating PHP applications o Capable of reading, understanding, and debugging PHP code o Experience with installing and customizing PHP, LAMP custom applications such as Drupal, WordPress and LIME Survey o Basic understanding of MySQL for installation, backups,and troubleshooting * An ability to deliver working code in an agile development environment. Desired Skills * Background in Microsoft Windows Administration * Detail understanding of web technologies and protocols; including security implications * Networking configuration support (background in firewalls, routers, proxies) * Programming in several languages; bash, Java, Ruby, Perl * Database experiences: DB2, MySQL * Support and operation of Web Services, Tomcat, Apache HTTP, IIS * IDE's; proficient in IDE such as Eclipse, NetBeans, IntelliJ, Visual Studio * Source code control system, such as CVS, Subversion, or Git Education Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
