Job Description Job Classification: Contract -**TEKsystems is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for our client located in the West Chester, PA area. Only qualified candidates should apply and will be contacted. All candidates must provide two technical references upon submittal. *** Qualifications/Job Duties: 1. 3-5 years experience in Powershell, Shell, VB Script, or Perl scripting to automate environments. 2. VMware/Vsphere experience. They do not need to be a full on administrator within VMware but need to know how to work with virtual machines (Take snapshots and clone VMware) 3. Hands on troubleshooting of Windows 2008 or Windows R2. Also need experience working with IIS web servers. - Execute and support effective deployments. Install and configure systems, as well as application and monitoring software, and maintain existing configuration files - Verify requests and content received via control forms, including but not limited to understanding the change, potential impacts, and anticipated dependencies. - Troubleshoot problems with deployments, including identification of root cause of issues, as well as identify and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Facilitate problem escalation and solution tracking. - In coordination with Deployment Engineer, Level III and appropriate internal stakeholders, prioritize and plan the execution of approved change requests. Attend regular change control meetings with appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure effective planning and implementation of upcoming change requests. - Perform assigned change requests in Integration, Test, Stage or Production Environments, as appropriate. - Communicate to appropriate stakeholders all significant status changes of a request. Maintain status and disposition of all changes and related actions. - Provide 24x7 production support and coordination of deployments, as assigned, in an on-call rotation with other team members.
