Siemens PMa (Production Machines) is a leading player in the Motion control industry. The Application Center based in Norcross GA is home to a team of highly trained Consulting Systems Engineers that are responsible for developing industry standards for Motion Control and implementing Motion and Drives applications.
This position offers the opportunity to interface with customers, manufacturing personnel, and engineers in other Siemens international locations. Control Systems Engineer
Motion control products design and motion application code for rigorous production machines (printing, packing, converting, cranes and hosts).

Primary Responsibilities:
•Responsible for Production Machines business growth by providing highly skilled level III service and support
•Commission machines and get sign off for acceptance from customer for new processes and or new machines
•Debug complex Motion control systems / machine processes.
•Assist Systems Engineers in system test
•Work with Product Managers to get product related issues resolved
•Identify and communicate performance problems at the process level to the appropriate Application Consultant or Systems Engineer
•Issue product updates related to issues concerning safety, functionality, or product performance
•Test and tune the technology functions
•Run the coordinated process and tune individual positions to optimize performance
•Check, commission, and troubleshoot communications
•Make system design changes, if required to achieve specified system performance
•Analyze and help in resolving complex networking problems with the assistance of AD MC APC and AD MC CS
•Post hotline support for the assigned products and industry applications
•Follow the escalation strategy. Ensure that critical issues are identified and escalated in a timely manner
•Provide telephone support to level 2 service engineer,OEMS and end Customers on as needed basis
•Work closely with the Vertical Industry segments to insure that industry specific solutions are developed in an efficient and timely manner.
•Travel 50-75%
•Position can be based remotely
•Engineer will be the lead development Engineer for a new End users machine development. This requires very specific knowledge of Siemens Motion products, drives and PLC’s along with specialized industry “know how” and experience applicable to packaging machines.
•Engineer will specialize in application and product support for the following products :
•Simotion Motion Controller
•Sinamics S120 and G120 drives
•S7 300, 400 and 1200 range of PLC’s
•Win CC Flexible HMI Panels and software.

Requirements:
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related
3+ years of experience in programming motion control systems for industrial machinery
Knowledgeable in C, C++, Visual Basic or Pascal highly preferred.
Must be able to travel to 50-70%
