Specific Job Description The customer organization is looking for a proactive Computer Systems Engineer/Architect that enjoys maintaining, as well as identifying and solving problems to improve the numerous computer infrastructures in the organization associated with data flow and processing. This individual will also be responsible for integration of virtual Windows and RHEL servers interfacing with EMC SANs into the existing infrastructure as well as architect new solutions (e.g. virtual machines, data replication, equipment refresh, etc.) to meet the customer's dynamic mission needs. Other duties may include scripting (e.g., Perl, Python, BASH) or light programming (e.g., Java, C), and project management for systems related projects. The organization has an operations area that is responsible for 24/7 service support. On the occasion where the operational system administrators need tier-2 support, the engineer will be expected to troubleshoot and rectify problems after-hours and/or weekends. Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Standard Job Description Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
