Job Description:

The Partnership for Defense Innovation Research Development Lab has a mission to rapidly evaluate, integrate and test COTS and GOTS technologies that are relevant to Special Operation Forces applications.

New products, innovations, research and development in all areas of emergent cellular and encryption technologies are applied to address the unique communications challenges of government users.  In this role as a System Integration Engineer you will support Government-sponsored research and development of such systems, with an emphasis on wireless technologies.  This work includes evaluating system concepts and designs, performing independent research/analysis and providing systems engineering and integration expertise during all aspects of the development lifecycle.

Provides technical input to project estimating and controlling processes and support overall technical leadership of multidiscipline engineering team(s).

Ability to support designing reviews internally with customers.  Experience in the application of Validation and Verification techniques and thorough attention to detail and thoroughness is essential.

Skills/Experience:

·         6+ years of systems engineering experience, 3+ years experience in a systems integration and engineering lead role and practical knowledge of requirements management including experience of working with stakeholders (internal and external) to elicit, analyze and negotiate requirements

·         Commercial cellular networks and standards, including CDMA, UMTS, GSM

·         Digital signal processing and communication theory

·         System requirement and architecture development

·         Experience in the functional design/architecture of communications systems

·         Experience in electrical architecture and design

·         Must have strong analytical, organizational, computer, communication and interpersonal skills

·         Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

·         TS/SCI Department of Defense Security Clearance or ability to obtain one

Responsibilities:

Candidates will be responsible for system design, development, prototyping and testing/simulation, working closely with other disciplines.  This position requires experience with CDMA and UTMS based systems.  Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential.

U.S. citizenship required.  Applicants selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI Department of Defense Security Clearance.  Current TS/SCI is a plus.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's (BS) or Master's (MS) degree, preferably in RF or Electronics Engineering
