Position Description

Boeing Defense UK Ltd (BDUK) has been established in the UK to further develop on-shore capability to provide improved customer support, responsiveness and value for money for the end customer the MoD. Headquartered in London, it has over 700 employees located at over 20 other locations within the UK including Bristol, Gosport and Farnborough. With an annual order-book in excess of 300M, projects include Through Life Customer Support, Apache Integrated Operational Support and Logistics Network Enabled Capability.

Key responsibilities for the role are:
You will be the Subject Matter Expert for the UK General Provisions (contractual terms and conditions for suppliers) and be the UK focal on risk mitigation.
You will maintain cognizance of legislative and contract law developments and their impact on procurement policies and procedures.
Reviews customer contracts to generate subcontract provisions that meet customer contract requirements.
Initiates procedural changes.
Develops and revises standard supplier contractual terms, conditions and special clauses and agreements (e.g., memorandum of understanding and letters of agreement) for use in effecting procurements.
You will consult with procurement agents on contractual terms and conditions issues. You will reviews file documentation to ensure compliance with procedures and acceptability.
Reviews, negotiates as necessary, and approves deviations to standard supplier contractual terms, conditions and special clauses for use in effecting procurements.
Consults with management regarding supplier management and procurement practices, policies, strategies and compliance issues.
Consults on the development and delivery of training to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and corrective action.
Leads others in efforts to mitigate risk and resolve problems related to programs, projects and procurement transactions.
Will be identified as a focal for compliance audits and leads in corrective action initiatives.
Provides coaching, training and mentoring (TC expertise, negotiations experiences and strategies) to improve BDS Supplier Management functional excellence

Experience Required:
It is likely that this individual will have knowledge of complex supply chain systems, such as aerospace or MoD procurement systems.
Knowledge of a complimentary procurement model is highly desirable, along with an understanding of the Military.
Experience of working within the US or within the UK arm of a large US organisation would be highly advantageous.
Experience of working within a large, organisation with multiple reporting lines.
Experience of Supply Chain governance Initiative; the ability to think and act ahead, takes a proactive approach in anticipating problems and driving opportunities; a self starter.
Resilient when challenged but adaptable to take on new ideas and change approach when required

Boeing/Supplier Agreements: Advanced/expert knowledge of theories and conditions of agreements between Boeing and various suppliers (internal and external) and how they apply to specific company policies, procedures, and practices.

Contract Structure and Terms: Advanced, expert knowledge of contract structure, to draft and document unique and complex proposals and agreements in a form that meets legal/business requirements.

Typical Education/Experience

A Degree in Law or Degree Level qualification with CPE/GDL equivalent and related work experience. Knowledge/experience of the defence sector and IT contracting is preferred. Experience of working directly with the MoD or have worked in a commercial company dealing with the MoD would be advantageous. Experience of working within the aerospace / information technology or high tech manufacturing environments would be advantageous. Accreditation to an official body eg CIPS would be advantageous
