Description:

The Systems / Network Engineer is responsible for implementing technology solutions and providing technical support to end-users and client IT administrators. This position requires an in-depth knowledge and hands on experience of Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7, Windows 2003/2008 server, Exchange 2003/2007/2010, SharePoint 2003/2007/2010, and various Microsoft Server products. An understanding of network technologies and associated components including routers, switches, and storage devices is required. Superior problem solving skills are needed to assess technical issues and determine an effective course of action for resolution. All system engineers must prepare reports and keep a complete record of problem discovery, troubleshooting, and results obtained on all assigned projects and support issues.

Essential Functions:

Installation and telephone/on-site support of server, desktop, and related hardware, operating systems, applications, VPN clients, e-mail, anti-malware, and backup solutions.

Assist sales team with pre-sales technical information and research.

Education Requirements:

Associate Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or other related field (work experience may be substituted for degree).

Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).

Experience:

At least three years experience in the IT field with desktop, server, and application implementation and support.

Other Requirements:

Very good verbal communication and presentation skills.

Must have the desire and ability to work effectively and add value as a team member.

Strong knowledge of the IT industry.

Must be able to set goals, develop a plan, and follow through.

Must be self-motivated and activity/performance driven.

Ability to effectively use support automation tools, application software and equipment to manage the support process.

Must be willing to learn and update skills to keep up with new technologies.
