Project Unicorn is a global programme which will enable the transfer of assets and liabilities from RBS NV to RBS plc. Unicorn is significantly complex in APAC with business spanning approximately 150 legal entities and 9 countries. APAC Unicorn Programme requires strong leadership to deliver the transfer of branch assets and subsidiaries in Indonesia and Thailand in 2012.
Description:
The purpose of the project is to optimize the existing market risk systems to be able to cope with the increasing demands on the capacity and performance. The proposed role is that of a lead developer on this project.
Working in the role of a lead developer, he/ she will be accountable for providing technical guidance in the project, translating the requirements coming from various project work streams to technical specifications, design the technical specifications, code and perform integration testing. The role will be a design authority in the project and deliver both design and development activities on the project
He/she will be responsible for the end to end delivery across the development, testing and go live phases, appropriate stake holder engagement, and project reporting.
Requirements
Essential
- Expert in Core Java, Sybase, Unix and over all performance tuning of large scale application.
- Proven experience in designing and developing scalable, distributed, large volumes based systems for significant period of time 6-8 years.
- Clear knowledge of distributed software architectures, low latency systems.
- Clear and precise verbal and written communication
- Must be proactive, confident, team player and a high end contributor.
- Ability to multi-task and have proven ability to work under pressure.
- At least 5 years experience in the financial service industry preferably an IB. Knowledge of Risk domain is a big plus.
Desirable
- Hands on knowledge on Oracle Coherence, clear understanding of concepts like POF, evolvability, caching-schemes, indexes, invocables etc.
- Hands on knowledge on Data synapse is a big plus.
- Knowledge of Java Swing will be an added advantage
- Specialisation in Finance / Risk
- Participate and contribute to the technical steer and discussions for the project and create project level technical artefacts
- Convert the technical specifications to design and development work to ensure the specifications are delivered
- Create Integration test plans and perform testing liaising with appropriate stakeholders for required data and testing facilitation
- Appropriate follow through, delivery and reporting at various stages of development cycle
- Appropriate communications with all stakeholders
- Adherence to the organisational guidelines
- Design and Development delivery for the SO project
- Integration testing and production release
- Effective stakeholder engagement
- Project communications and escalations on time
