We seek an outstanding Network Sales Engineer to partner with the Sales team in reaching revenue goals through providing quality pre-sales technical support and presentations focused on articulating value to the customer.

The Pre-Sales Engineer will be based in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. In this role, you will represent our company as the product solutions expert, insuring technical excellence in support of the sales process.

-Sell Service Assurance solutions for the Modern IP Network: Sniffer® and nGenius® brands
-Responsible for primarily pre-sale and some post-sale support (80/20)
-Ownership of all technical account activities. This includes building relationships across customer's silos to document their infrastructure, understand their challenges, and seek out potential projects
-Develop and execute account sales strategies with the account team
-Identify compelling events or specific business problems and offer attractive solutions to the client
-Consultation to prospective clients – parsing requirements, reviewing/creating Visio network diagrams, call flows, etc.
-Provide technical sales presentations and complex demonstrations
-Design and deliver customer-facing Field Trials/Proof of Concepts/Evaluations
-Provide expert consultation to the customer in our company's 'best practices' techniques
-Some post sales support as needed, helping transition deployments to the post sales team
-Provide informal product training to clients and team
-Very technical hands-on position
-Directly assist Sales teams in achieving financial targets via the sales process and assisting sales in accurately assessing and forecasting opportunities
-Assist the Sales Teams in making tactical decisions regarding the sale
-Responsibilities will also include development of project scope and RFPs. Support post sales technical support as needed

Here's the skills you'll need:

-Current employment with Verizon wireless would be a huge plus.
- Certification CCNP, CCIE, Mobile (LTE, IMS, CDMA, GPRS) a plus
-Proven pre-sales record of success and a solid understanding of the sales cycle selling to North America Tier-1 Service Providers
-Network Management experience required
-Experience designing /operating mobile packet core wireless networks
-Ability to synthesize complex data/information, apply knowledge of multi-platform, multi-technology environments and incorporate an in-depth understanding of business and technical implications to provide timely, cost effective, quality solutions or alternatives to customers
-Minimum of 5 years networking pre-sales technical support experience
-Strong experience in Networking with past experience as an Application, Network or Sales Engineer
-Skilled presenter who demonstrates ease and technical credibility
-Proven success in a very fast-paced, high growth company
-BS in S/W Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
-Linux Administration required
-Travel required within the assigned territory as required (up to 50-70%)

The individual must also possess technical skills that relate to these areas:

Cisco/Starrent, ALU, NSN, Ericsson, etc.
TCP/IP, SNMP, Netflow, VoIP, IMS
Various network topologies, LAN, WAN (MPLS, Frame, ATM)
Trend analysis concepts
Business Intelligence concepts
Network infrastructure concepts
OSS - Telcordia, HP/OV, Tivoli, Mercury, Tektronix GeoProobe, Tekalek, Agilent, Micromuse, NetCool, etc. is a plus
Network performance management
Fault/Alert management
nGenius, Network General, Network Associates product experience is an advantage
Operating systems - Linux/Unix RedHat, FreeBSD, etc.

Other Important Qualities:
• Must understand the mobile wireless environment (required)
• Forge strong technical relationships with customers, while championing our solution to help them solve their complex problems.
• Hands on with protocol/forensic analysis (some of our customers are total packet-heads)
• Server administration - Linux SysAdmin type of experience is required for setup/tuning/troubleshooting field trial systems
