Job Description                                   Provide the technical expertise required to support and advance the University's storage and virtual environments

Minimum Qualifications                      Bachelor's degree and two years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) with SAN storage administration, zoning, masking and storage presentation in a SAN/NAS environment; troubleshooting SAN storage issues in multiple operating system environment; working knowledge of Cisco and Brocade Fiber Channel switches.

Preferred Qualifications                       2 years' experience with VMware ESX, clustering technologies, working cross platform operating systems. working knowledge of Cisco and Brocade switches.

 

Minimum Responsibilities                    Manage capacity and performance of the SAN Infrastructure ensuring the integrity of the system on a day to day basis. Troubleshooting storage-related issues in a variety of environments. Act as a technical resource for platform, database and development teams. Participate in all phases of total system planning and in the generation of justifications and specifications for facility requirements and enhancements. Present technical briefings. Participate in formulation and implementation standards and procedures. Attend professional conferences. Occasional requirement for working non-standard hours.
