Job Description

The Systems/IT Infrastructure Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of technology solutions for the firm’s expanding San Francisco operation. The role also involves working collaboratively with members of the San Francisco professional team on local initiatives and with the technology infrastructure teams in other regions on global initiatives. The role will report to the U.S. Operations Manager. This individual will also have an opportunity to work on select business-related projects, based on available capacity.

The position will be based in San Francisco and successful candidates will have an opportunity to play a key role in the growth of the U.S. operation at an important stage in its development. The role will involve an initial period of training in our offices in Vancouver, London and Bermuda.

Responsibilities

- Be the primary IT support contact for the San Francisco office

- Be accountable for maintaining excellent service levels for all aspects of technology infrastructure

- Be responsible for managing and supporting expansion projects, including a localized data center

- Be responsible for the day-to-day support of end user systems, including configuring and maintaining PC desktops, laptops, local printers, peripheral devices, and associated software

- Create, update, track, and close helpdesk calls utilizing our helpdesk tracking system.

- Identify areas for infrastructure operations process improvement using fact based analysis and make recommendations

- Work with the global Infrastructure teams to implement systems and network configurations to ensure compliance with established policies, standards, configuration guidelines, and industry best practices

- Make significant contributions to major local and global technology infrastructure initiatives and projects

- Help establish and implement improvements to IT-related policies, procedures, and processes, and help enable new technologies

Qualifications

- The individual will likely have three to seven years of relevant of relevant technical experience in IT Infrastructure/Desktop Support/Systems Network Engineering/Systems Administration

- Bachelor’s degree required

- Proven ability to translate business requirements into solutions that map to technology capabilities and integration with existing infrastructure

- A team-player attitude, with proven leadership, communication, organizational and relationship-management skills

- Responsive client service orientation: able to anticipate, understand and meet the needs of a focused team of professionals

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to clearly communicate with non-technical users

- Strong self-motivation, with keen attention to detail and excellent judgment

- Ability to quickly investigate, design and understand complex systems

- Financial services industry exposure preferred, but not required

Proven hands-on experience and expertise in the following:

- Desktop technologies:

         o Windows desktop, including Windows 7 and Office 2010

         o Desktop PC, laptop, printer and peripheral hardware

- Server technologies:

         o Windows Server, including Server 2008 R2

         o Active Directory

         o Exchange 2010

         o VMWare

         o Citrix

         o HP DLxxx and BLxxx server hardware, and HP EVA SAN storage

- Networking technologies:

         o Cisco LAN/WAN Routing and Switching

         o Cisco IP telephony

         o CheckPoint firewall
