FIXED INCOME, CURRENCIES COMMODITIES GROUP
The Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Group (FICC) is involved in a broad range of financial markets trading activities. Its services range from 24-hour trading in most currencies and commodities to acquiring assets, (either companies, physical trading assets or derivative portfolios). In the EMEA region, FICC's major business activities are: Commodities (base and precious metals, oil, gas, power, coal, agricultural commodities, freight and environmental products), Futures (listed derivatives) execution and clearing, emerging markets (Bonds, Repos, FX) and debt arrangements. In selected markets, FICC is heavily involved in physical as well as financial products.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to gain broader compliance experience within a growing commodities and physicals business.
As part of the Compliance Division within our Risk Management Group, this highly visible role is based on the Trading Floor, supporting our FICC business. Responsibilities, under the supervision of the head of FICC Compliance (EMEA), will include:-
- Day to day routine Trading Floor compliance related tasks such as :-
- Regular monitoring and surveillance activities of on and off Exchange transactions.
- Responding to routine enquiries from the Business and Exchanges
- Day to day advice and guidance to the Business on rules and internal policies
- Regular routine reporting
- Contribution to ad hoc projects and broader Compliance community
Previous Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience on a Trading Floor would be advantageous and some previous compliance/regulatory experience is required.
- Some knowledge of the UK and EU regulatory requirements, including FSA and Exchange requirements.
- Solid relationship and communications skills
