T Systems Engineer recruitment
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the administration of MS Windows 2003/2008 Server and MS Exchange 2010 messaging infrastructure located in New York and London.
- Specifically responsible for the testing, deployment, troubleshooting and maintenance of the messaging environment.
- Resolve all level 2 and 3 escalation issues and establishing development, systems changes, or procedures to prevent further issues.
- Research new methods for enhancing performance, reliability, optimization tuning and capacity planning
- Installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance of internally developed and vendor published applications on MS Windows Server 2003/2008 environment.
- Vendor applications currently supports include MS SQL deployments, MS SharePoint applications, MS IIS, Citrix/XenApp, RSA, NSI’s DoubleTake, Documentum, Lawson, Wall Street Office, Investran, Investier and others.
- Interact with development teams to install, repair and monitor applications while maintaining availability.
- Assist development teams throughout life cycle on engineering application architectures and standards.
- Develop, implement and test the Disaster Recovery environments according to existing standards.
- Ongoing software/hardware maintenance
- Storage optimization and performance tuning
- Coordinate new storage deployments
- Responsible for the daily running/optimization/performance of VMWare ESX 3.5 and VSphere virtual environments
- Coordinate the P2V process with individual business units
- Coordinate new system deployments
- Manage resource allocation in conjunction with business units
- Manage DR replication and run books.

- Maintain Disaster Recovery environment and coordinate tests regularly.
- Records inquiries, repair and service requests, resolves or directs request to appropriate technical area, tracks status and follows up to ensure client satisfaction
- Escalate issues to other team members or consults when a solution is unclear
- Performs daily tasks to insure compliance with all security and audit procedures.
- Maintain asset and software licenses database
- Assist desktop support staff with research, resolutions and support
- Act as liaison between various groups within the department and company to aid in the expedition of resolutions

3+ years as an MS Exchange Administrator
3+ years as a Network Administrator with an application focus

Market Data (Reuters/Bloomberg); Citrix – MetraFrame Presentation Server, XenApp Server, RSA, Windows Installer 2.0 MSI (InstallShield, Wise, Visual Studio Installer); Platform Builds (Ghost, SysPrep, etc.); Remote Admin Tools (VNC, SMS Remote Control); Storage Management (Avamar, Backup Exec); Shell Scripting (Batch files, PERL, Visual Basic, Java Scripting); MS-Office Suite 2003/2007; Disaster Recovery (NSI, SQP redundancy)

Non-Technical Aptitudes
- 5+ years experience as a Network Engineer
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Financial industry knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills in order to establish strong relationships to communicate effectively and deal with all types of customers
- Strong phone presence and ability to solve problems over phone, empathy and people communications skills, natural problem solver
- Demonstrated ability to maintain performance and professional attitude in a fast paced environment and during heavy phone volumes in order to handle all customer calls with the same high quality standards
- High attention to detail in order to prevent errors when researching and resolving problems
- Willingness to be flexible with work schedule and work the hours necessary to provide adequate phone coverage
