The successful incumbent will perpetually manage (weekly against plan) veneer flow across the system ensuring a balance of stability and responsiveness. The veneer plan is reconciled monthly to the Supply Plan resulting from Sales and Operations Planning Process. Tactical Veneer Product Manager is the "Center of Expertise" for Veneer supply chain flow. This role requires up to 25% travel. Key Functions: Responsibilities: Safely design, implement, utilize and continuously improve the veneer supply flow processes for optimizing SE Engineered Lumber plant production and consumption. Problem solves any areas where the plant schedule impacts material and/or capacity availability. Facilitate weekly discussion and reviews with key stakeholders regarding performance and 2 -4 weeks future outlook: Supply;Demand;Inventory;Transp ortation Partner with transportation to ensure the most cost effective, on-time delivery. Responsible for managing mill inventory to pre-determined levels. Provide appropriate details and analysis to Supply Management for consideration in the S OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process as it relates to veneer/plywood. Effectively work with manufacturing operations and vendors Provide analytical support to both Supply Management and Transportation o Transportation capacity o Carrier capacity o Rejection rate information o Cost analysis Required Skills and Experience: . High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). . Minimum of five (5) years experience in a leadership role. . Minimum of five (5) years experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. . Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills. . Strong teaming skills and ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization. . Strong planning and organizational skills . Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to define problems, establishes facts, draw valid conclusions and solve problems. . Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision making skills. . Strong business and financial concepts competency. . Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and other Windows based programs. .
