Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – FTPerforms ultrasound examinations of patients as requested by referring physicians. Essential Functions: – Greets patient, explains ultrasound procedure, answers questions. – Selects the appropriate machine probe to be used to obtain diagnostic information requested by referring physician. – Applies gel to patient’s skin, applies probe, monitors equipment to obtain ultrasound images. – Processes film reviews images to confirm that images meet radiologist’s requirements. – Prepares initial diagnosis by identifying abnormal conditions for review by radiologist.
