Responsibilities: · Prepares, and assists with preparation of intermediate level tax returns and supporting schedules, some complex returns. Assists with automation of tax preparation and collection of data. (All tax-types: income, franchise, sales, use, gross receipts, property, and unclaimed property tax in US and Canadian jurisdictions). · Reviews the basic level returns which are prepared by more junior staff. · Analyzes tax audit and notice correspondence, prepares responses to the governments, assists Tax Manager with more complex strategies and responses. · Assists with tax planning, researching tax issues. Writes intermediate level memos, assists Tax Manager with more complex memos/documentation. · Communicates with internal partners and tax authorities regarding tax issues and requirements. · Prepares calculations and schedules, and provides other support for tax analysis related to financial statement tax provision. Supports implementation of tax related projects. Prepares recurring tax-related journal entries and reconciliations. Qualifications: · Intermediate level understanding of US federal, US state, and Canadian income tax and sales use tax · Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Attention to detail · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills, a plus) · Proven ability to work as part of a team · Organizational and deadline-management skills · BA or BS in Accounting, Finance, related area (Masters of Tax or CPA, a plus) · Tax return preparation experience, either in a company or in public accounting · 2-4 years tax experience · Tax research and analytical skills (RIA Checkpoint, a plus) Kelly Financial Resources is a division of Kelly Services.
