Tax Accountant Job in Shelton 6484, Connecticut US

Position Overview:

The Tax Accountant works within the growing Corporate Tax Department to ensure accurate and timely Corporate Tax reporting for the organization. Will have involvement in a widevariety of Federal and Statetaxation and accounting activities, includingacquisitions, International taxation, provisioning, IRS audits, etc. Will gain exposure to diverse Finance and Accounting functions at the Enterprise-level.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare Federal and State corporate income and franchise tax returns.
  2. Perform research for various Federal, State, Payroll and Foreign Tax issues.
  3. Prepare amended state returns based upon IRS audits.
  4. Field inquiries and respond to tax questions from various divisions and groups within the business.
  5. Work on tax accounting issues including year-end tax provision and effective tax rate.
  6. Will assist inresponding to Federaland Stateaudit requests.
  7. Will assist in developing transition procedures for tax functions of acquired businesses.

Education and Work Experience Required:

  1. Must possess a minimum of 2(+) years of experiencein Corporate Tax Department orPublic Accounting with a corporate tax focus.
  2. Knowledge of OneSource research and compliance software is desirable.
  3. Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field of study. A Master's degree in Taxation or current enrollment in a similar Master's program is a plus.
  4. A CPA or progress working toward a CPAis a plus, but not required.
