Overview : The Tax Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support for the Senior Director of Tax and Treasury and the Tax Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Maintains a tax calendar which includes information on various deadlines for tax filings and payments, informs the Sr Tax Manager of approaching deadlines so that returns and payments can be filed. Prepares and processes annual reports, electronic funds transfer requests for income tax payments, annual franchise tax reports and business licenses for DeVry and its divisions. Files annual reports electronically as required. Processes check requests for income tax filings and extensions, personal property and real estate taxes, processes invoices for software subscriptions, professional membership dues and tax services. First point of contact for Thomson Reuters, DeVry's personal property tax compliance provider. Sends income tax returns, personal property and real estate tax payments and annual reports via certified mail in a timely manner, maintains PostMaster Plus software database for certified filings. Maintains accurate records and files, filing systems to include hard copies and network systems. May assist Sr Tax Manager with information requests for income tax audits. Provides tax information to the Accounting Dept. as needed Office administration duties, such as processing vendor invoices, copying, mailing correspondence, scheduling meetings, etc." Qualifications : High School diploma required, college degree preferred. At least 5 years office experience, some familiarity with Tax and Treasury. Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize and coordinate workload. PC skills include Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, database applications.
