Job Description:
Responsibilities included for the Tax Analyst job include but are not limited to:
• Preparation of US federal, state and local income tax compliance.
• Participate in the preparation of the tax provision.
• Assist with merger and acquisition related projects.
• Gathering information and organizing data into audit ready work papers.
• Analysis of general ledger accounts.
• Preparation of audit ready apportionment work papers.
• Assist in the preparation of federal and state income tax estimates and extension payments.
• Assist with federal state E-filing requirements.
• Performance of ad hoc projects as required.
Requirements:
Basic skill required for the Tax Analyst job:
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access.
• Strong general ledger analytical skills.
• 2 to 5 years of large corporate tax experience with a background in multi-state tax and federal tax.
• Need to be able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven, results oriented environment.
• Need to be able to work as part of a team.
• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic skills preferred for the Tax analyst job:
• Familiarity and experience with FAS 109 and FIN 48.
• Knowledge of Corp Tax ETS, Peoplesoft SAP.
• Some insurance taxation knowledge is a plus.
