MFG has been managing assets for pension funds, institutions and retail investors since 1980 in Australia and 1929 in the US (through Delaware Investments). Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets has an opportunity for a contractor to join the team in New York. This is an ongoing need with the contractor working between 2-4 days per week as needed.
In this role you will:
- Review partnership and corporate tax returns prepared by PWC
- A detail review of the numbers on the returns is performed by the MIRA finance staff, this person will be responsible for a review equivalent to the type performed by a manager or senior manager in a public accounting firm
- There are approximately 10-15 partnership returns and about 15 to 20 simple corporate returns
- Coordinate the compliance process and resolve most issues related to the preparation of the returns.
- Research and respond to all tax withholding questions related to partnership income and distributions to non-US investors
- Review FAS 109 calculations for each blocker corporation in the fund structure
- Prepare responses to routine tax notices
To be successful candidates should have:
- The equivalent of 7 or more years of public accounting experience preparing or reviewing partnership tax returns.
- Familiarity with fund tax accounting matters
- A basic understanding of ASC 740 (FAS 109)
- Experience with income tax withholding requirements
