Tax Credit Equity Underwriter (Non-evaluated Professional)

The individual will be part of a team responsible for the underwriting of both Direct and Proprietary Low Income Housing Tax Credit equity investments in the Community Lending and Investment platform. This position will: - perform detailed underwriting including analysis of market, borrower and sponsor, construction risks, review and testing proforma financials, performing sensitivities for Low Income Housing Tax Credit Equity Investments - perform detailed investment research utilizing demographics ring studies, market studies and appraisals, bank subscribed real estate sources, and the portfolio history - evaluate personal and corporate financial statements and tax returns, property ownership and loan history reports, and credit reports - coordinate 3rd party reports, (Environmental, Appraisal, Engineering, etc.) and will be responsible for the review or facilitating the satisfactory review of the reports. - responsible for preparation of financial projections, financial structuring and pricing of transactions and completion of accounting review - provide feedback as to transaction structure, and being able to offer timely solutions and recommendations Additional responsibilities include preparing the credit underwriting package as well as presenting the transactions merits and weaknesses to Senior Management. Ability to work in a team environment that will require effective interfacing with Risk Management, Asset Management, Originations, and Closing. This position will be one of the primary customer contacts along with Regional Equity Manager. Travel is required. Minimum Qualifications: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 4+ years commercial real estate and/or accounting/financial underwriting experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong Real Estate underwriting skills Strong knowledge of Section 42 Low Income Housing Tax Credit program Understanding of real estate underwriting issues Preferred Skills: Previous experience in underwriting LIHTC investments Proficient in Excel Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Real Estate CPA, MBA or related graduate degree preferred Relationship management or asset management experience (preferably Multi-Family), including Borrower/Counterparty analysis involving developers, construction companies, and individual guarantors Wells Fargo is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V. © 2012 Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.
