Tax Executive (Trusts)

Hays Public Practice are seeking applications for a Trusts and Estates executive based in Bury.St.Edmunds.

This exciting role is based in the tax department of a innovative and modern office which centres on agriculture, medical practices, owner managed businesses and private clients. The role is new and has arisen from continued expansion arising in the firm’s trust and estate planning work.

The responsibilities include;
-Preparation of self-assessment tax returns and related tax calculations for individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates using the firm’s software (CCH), for review by a senior member of staff.
- All related correspondence with clients, HM Revenue Customs and third parties as required. Monitoring and working to related deadlines.
-Preparation of Trust Estate accounts using the firm’s software (CCH Trust Accounts), for review by a senior member of staff.
-Monitoring deadlines on trusts and estates such as ten yearly charges and beneficial entitlements.
- Dealing with the day-to-day administration of trusts and estates.
- Completion of inheritance tax returns for trusts and estates, for review by a senior member of staff.
- Provide support on planning projects and researching technical issues on tax advisory work. Drafting clear, concise and accurate advisory letters for review by a senior member of staff.
Provide support in dealing with telephone calls, client meetings and general office administration, where required. Carry out any other duties to meet with the needs of the business.

The ideal candidate would be CTA or STEP qualified with an understanding of trust and estate accounts, although candidates with other relevant qualifications and experience will be considered. The candidate should have the ability to manage their own time and work to deadlines, communicating effectively with senior team members.

Depending on the candidate and current qualifications and experience, the firm would be prepared to offer study support towards further qualifications if appropriate.
