Tax Manager – Banking recruitment

Our client is a leading investment banking group in the Asia Pacific region and is committed to actively growing it's footprint in the region.
 
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing business in a role designed to establish the tax compliance function for the Australian business and then proactively manage this function going forward.
 
Key responsibilities -

• Supporting the Financial Controller to establish the tax function in-line with regulatory framework of the business, including the creation of internal controls and the documentation of these controls and associated procedures. 
• Adhering to the Target Tax Operating Model, managing the preparation of all tax returns and filings of the group (tax consolidated group) to ensure their timely and accurate lodgement. 
• Managing the monthly tax calculation processes and reporting the outcome regionally and locally 
• Executing periodic and cyclical reviews of tax processes for FBT, GST, payroll tax, withholding tax and corporate tax to ensure compliance and to extract efficiencies e.g. maximise GST recovery rates. 
• Assisting in the management of and responses to ATO audit enquiries. 
• Assisting with overall tax capacity planning, structuring and execution of corporate tax and integration strategies 
• Ensuring new tax developments are highlighted and actioned 
• Assisting other Finance team members as required 
This role will suit an experienced tax manager with an established track record of setting up and improving processes. This will ideally be from an in-house tax compliance function or a professional services environment but must be with in financial services. You will need to demonstrate that you are able to work autonomously as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills working in a high performance environment.
