Tax Manager - Insurance Specialist
The Financial Services Tax Department provides both advisory and compliance corporate tax services (including stamp duty) to its clients. The industry specialisations include insurance, treasury, asset management and banking/capital markets with a client portfolio including some of the largest operators in Ireland across these sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of an integrated team and provide on-the-job training, guidance and supervision to Assistants.
- Undertake the appropriate research to ensure that you are familiar with the client prior to the commencement of your work.
- Ensure clients are kept up to date with technical developments
- Contribute to the early identification and resolution of issues in a responsive and effective manner.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the key principles of Irish tax legislation (EU legislation, as applicable) and relevant case law.
- Take responsibility for the completion of work assigned within the allotted timeframes as per budget.
- Review work prepared by others for completeness and accuracy and ensure adherence to tax legislation, case law and the firm's quality review procedures.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years PQE - ITI and/or ACA or ACCA
- Management experience required
- Proven ability to have a good attention to detail
- Experience with managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients
- Experience within a legal environment is an advantage but not essential
- Knowledge of alpha tax is an advantage
- Excellent IT skills (including all MS Office applications)
- Very strong communication and organisational skills
