Job Description
- Responsible for the reporting of income taxes in the Company's financial statements in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles.
- Responsible for the completion of federal and state income tax returns.
- Work with corporate and business unit staff in preparing forecasts of book and cash taxes.
- Perform necessary research for federal and state income and franchise tax matters.
- Ensure that our processes are operating as designed and that key internal controls are compliant with SOX requirements.
- Support the Tax Vice President with MA projects and tax controversy matters.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with major in Finance or Accounting. Master of Taxation preferred. CPA preferred. 5-7 years of tax experience in a Big 4/National CPA firm and/or large multistate corporate tax environment.
- Prior experience completing federal and state income tax returns, preparing forecasts of book and cash taxes, and working knowledge of SOX compliance.
- Ability to solve complex problems, take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions and work independently and be able to lead functional teams or projects.
- Requires expert knowledge of applicable laws and regulations for federal and state income tax reporting, and expert knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley internal control requirements for tax reporting.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced and ever changing work environment and work with others to achieve goals within the function.
- Tax provision software and Oracle Experience a plus.
- Ability to interpret internal/external business issues, recommend best practices in the function and participate in development of project strategy as well as project execution.
